Modernity Intersected

Architect: BMA (Bernbaum/Magadini Architects) |  Interior Designer: Rick Rozas | Landscape Design: Amy Bartels of StudioOutside

This two-story 8,000-square-foot, five-bedroom home strikes a perfect aesthetic balance by intersecting clean geometric lines with light gathering spaces. The exterior facade boasts a variety of natural textures including pale limestone and clear stained Douglas fir wood mixed with matte grey metals, while the warm interior is clad in bright whites, dark concrete and pale wood surfaces. A glassy waterfall feature seems to bisect straight through a floor-to-ceiling glass room to the back garden, where a pool of the same width continues the illusion, ending with another waterfall feature on its opposite end. The property is surrounded by meticulous landscaping that integrates seamlessly with the structure. This is the first project BufordHawthorne has built for this client, but the fifteenth build in partnership with architectural firm BMA, with which we’ve had a longstanding relationship for over 23 years.
